Pay attention to what I'm doing here

From the Tuesday, November 4, 2003 issue of the York News-Times"C'mon people, pay attention to what I'm doing here." If you ever attended one of the late Norm Green's auctions, there's a chance you might have heard the above line or a variation of the same. It was the line he would use when he thought he was auctioning off an item that was worth a great deal more than what the current bid happened to be.
I'm going to be honest. I'm going to miss hearing that line. I grew up going to auctions with my dad, and I still enjoy attending them and going to Norm's auctions were always a good time. He was knowledgeable and kept things moving along at a quick pace. Norm also shared his auctioneering expertise several times a year as he donated services to several organizations for benefit auctions. He'll be missed.
Add to all that, he was a friend. And no one enjoys losing friends.
